Making your own granola is a great habit to get into. It’s healthier than the sugar-laden store-bought varieties, and gives you the peace of mind that comes with knowing exactly what is going into your food. For our Almond Chia Granola, we’ve opted for a little pure maple syrup as a sweetener rather than refined sugars. Enjoy it with coconut yoghurt and/or your choice of plant-based milk – it’s also a deliciously healthy smoothie bowl topping!

INGREDIENTS
  • Organic Quick Oats, 2 cups
  • Almond Meal, 1/2 cup
  • Chia Seeds, 1/2 cup
  • Buckinis, 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla Essence, 2 tsp
  • Maple Syrup, 1/3 cup
  • Coconut Oil, 1/2 cup (melted)
  • Raw Almonds, 1/2 cup (optional)

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
  3. Spread granola over a lined baking tray.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, turning every few minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Serve in your favourite Coconut Bowl with your choice of plant-based milk and/or fresh fruit.
