October Climate Contributions

In Kenya

By supporting Coconut Bowls with your purchase choices we've offset 13 tonnes of carbon that was created through shipping. This ensures that when your order arrives at your door it is carbon neutral. October’s contributions were directed towards the  Grasslands, Water & Wildlife project in Kenya with the focus of protecting 410,000 hectares of native lands for wildlife and indigenous people. We’re proud to say that our Coco Charity contributions to  Cool Effect have kept us carbon neutral since our business began in 2016. We’re focussed on carbon emissions as they are scientifically proven as contributors to global warming and climate change. 

In California

The California and Oregon bushfires of 2020 devastated some of our most precious natural spaces. We highly recommend watching David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet for one of the  key ways we can combat climate change is to protect our forests and actively work to reforest areas that have been affected by natural disaster.

Our Coco Contribution to  One Tree Planted will plant 2,200 trees into the  bushfire affected areas of California and Oregon. Because trees use carbon dioxide to build their trunks, branches, roots, and leaves, they are natural carbon absorbers and help to clean the air. In fact, one mature tree can absorb up to 48lbs/21kg per year! As a tree grows it continues to have a positive impact on the planet and wildlife. We see each tree as an investment in now and the future. Every purchase of a Coconut Bowls product is positively contributing to the world around us and the people who live in it.

October Community Contributions

World Mental Health Day fell on October 10, 2020 and prioritising mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. When we support our friends and family, through open conversations about mental health we’re creating space to be vulnerable, receive help and share. You never know how much a simple text, call or chat could help someone.

We released a Limited Edition 'Be Kind to Your Mind' Coconut Bowl + Spoon Combo, where 10% of proceeds were donated to mental health organisations across the globe. 

In Australia our Coco Contributions were donated to  Beyond Blue, their work provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live. 

In Europe our Coco Contributions were donated to  Rethink Mental Illness. Their mission is to improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness through a network of local groups and services, expert information and successful campaigning. By bringing people together they’re creating stronger communities and healthier people. 

In America our Coco Contributions were donated to the  American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. AFSM have a vast library of resources dedicated to educating the larger public about suicide and the best practices for prevention. 

As a business and individuals, it is our responsibility to give back to nature and invest in the sustainable future of our planet!
